I came across of boysenberry for the first time. Shape like a burgundy blackberry with a shiny reflection.
According to Wikipedia, a boysenberry is a cross between a European raspberry, a common blackberry and American dewberry and a loganberry.
Another occasion to make jam and try a new flavour.
Ingredients:
500gr boysenberry
450gr sugar
1 juice of 1 large lemon
Put the fruit, the sugar and the lemon juice in a preserving pan.
Simmer slowly until the fruits are soft and the sugar is dissolved stirring some time to time.
bring to boil rapidly until a setting point is reached.
Let the cooked fruit to cool.
Spoon into sterilized jars and seal.
It will make 2 or 3 jars.
